Our school’s history:

St. Claret English Medium School is administered by St. Thomas Province of Claretian Congregation. The fathers belong to a Spanish Congregation founded by St. Anthony Mary Claret, who was born in Sallent, Barcelona, Spin on 23rd December 1807. It was during that time when so many people remained ignorant and illiterate. The school is established by Claretian fathers with the main motive of providing quality and value based education to the students of Chimur region. The school has classes from Nursery till X standard. The founding of the school is influenced by the educational philosophy and vision of St. Anthony Mary Claret, a saint of 19th century in Spain and the founder of the Claretian Missionary fathers. In India, the first institution was started in 1970 and now they carry on their services in almost all the states of India in different fields. They are committed in providing quality education for all the children, irrespective of caste, color, religion and language.

Our vision:

A great vision symbolizes a great value and a great culture inhibited in the school. So, our vision is to promote educational excellence, leadership and service based on universal love and brotherhood in an environment characterized by respect for the individual and concern for the community; to strive to foster positive values based on the pursuit of truth into the lives of our students to effect the holistic transformation within them.

Our mission:

The mission of the Claretian educational apostolate in India is: “To form spiritually oriented, morally upright, intellectually competent, socially responsive and culturally tolerant citizens, through holistic education, for the creation of a civilization of love”.

Our Patron:

The best gift our school received is from our Heavenly patron, St. Anthony Mary Claret, a 19th century Catholic Archbishop of Cuba and the founder of the congregation of Claretian Missionary fathers. He was born on December 23, 1807 at Sallent in Spain. He sought to serve God and people using all possible means. He was a profound teacher; a social reformer and a prophet with genuine spiritual courage. Above all he was a caring spiritual father and a symbol of God’s love for the people. Persecuted and exiled, he died on October 24, 1870. He was canonized as a saint in 1950 by Pope Pius XII.

Establishing rapport:

A child will find joy and success in school if there is good communication and understandings between home and school. Great stress is laid on self-discipline, courtesy and the qualities of sharing and caring, regularity and punctuality. The discipline in the schools is firm and the parents are expected to support the school’s efforts to inculcate discipline and good habits in the students.

The value imparters:

We always aim to inculcate in children the spirit of adventure, achievement, inner discipline, tolerance, understanding, and respect for different values and customs. We are committed in providing quality education for all the children, irrespective of caste, color, religion and language. In our school, we lay special emphasis on the pupil’s character formation through value based education. The medium of instruction is English. Students are exhorted to speak only in English in the school premises. The staff takes personal interest in each child and seeks to synthesize the cultural, moral and ethical ideals of this ancient land of ours with the futuristic, computer oriented and progressive aspiration for modern, global times.

Our school emblem:

School emblem is a symbol to show your respect towards your institute. The emblem signifies the pursuit for wisdom, love, discipline and transformation. The flame in the emblem is the symbol of inner longing of a child’s thirst to keep this flame of knowledge alive all throughout his/her life. For a Claretine, the starting point of education is knowing oneself, nurturing the core of one’s own personality and developing his/her innate talents
